GRUMBLING & COMPLAINING

(Exodus 15:19-17:7)
Can I share with you how my morning went? My husband said to me, “Remember that you are doing the blog today.” To which I said, “No I’m not... it’s Wednesday and you ALWAYS do Wednesday. Besides, it had to be a typo because I didn’t volunteer.”

Well, to settle the argument, I texted the person who knows everything ...Sue Lord! Well, come to find out, it WAS me! WHAT?!?! I AM NOT A WRITER!

So after I calmly texted back a “Thumbs Up” to Sue, I threw on my tennis shoes, barely said goodbye to my husband, went outside for a stroll.....and the “spirit” of the Israelites descended upon me! While crying and mildly hyperventilating, the terror of writing a blog was accompanied by LOTS of grumbling and complaining! I will not share most of what I was thinking, but the first of which was I AM NOT A WRITER! I never wanted to be, never will be, didn’t sign up for this, etc, etc, etc.. You get the picture!

Now I understand that 98% of you, including my husband, are reading this and are rolling your eyes thinking “What’s the big deal? It’s not that difficult!” And let me just say that at times I have read the Exodus passages before and rolled my eyes and thought “Why are you grumbling and complaining....the Lord has MIRACULOUSLY provided for you and is right there WITH you!” Well now Lana! That’s good theology! Maybe you can just share THAT!

So, I have calmed down enough to share this quick encouragement to you, but mostly to me:
STOP grumbling and complaining! Remember that the Lord has provided for us miraculously and is right here with us! Also, our other passage for today is so encouraging to think about as it reminds us that, “The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1
