FAILURE IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD

I don’t know about you, but too often in my life, I am stressed about the possibility of messing up. I’m worried about not doing good enough. I want to succeed in whatever I do. What if I told you, it is impossible to fail with God. I know, I know. You’ve heard that time and time again. But things keep not working out and you keep failing. I don’t mean that you will win at everything you do with God, or that you will always past every test with God. I mean the result doesn’t matter. When God asks you to start a new business, it doesn’t matter if it works out. When God asks you to share the Gospel with your friend, it doesn’t matter if he or she chooses to follow Jesus. When God asks you to go talk to a stranger, it doesn’t matter if they ignore you and walk away. What does matter is our obedience to Christ. God asks that whatever we do, we do it as if unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23). Jesus summarized the entire law in two statements, Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul, and love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37-40). God cares more about our heart than our actions (not that our actions aren’t important, but our reason why matters). Following Christ is about a relationship, not about a bunch of rules. God doesn’t ask us to go conquer the world. He asks us to follow Him one step and one day at a time. As we spend time with Him and get to know Him more, we will understand more and more what He has called us to do.
