Colossians 3:1-4 "If you be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of GOD." What does it mean to be risen with Christ? When a person becomes a child of GOD it is because they have experienced a second birth. This is called being born again or born of heaven. John 3:3 states "except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of GOD." When a person accepts the gospel message and believes that Christ died for his sins, he experiences the miracle of grace. He is now a child of GOD. He or she is now in the family of GOD.

Not only does he experience the new birth, he also experiences Holy Spirit baptism.1 Corinthians 12:13 states "For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jew or Gentile, whether we be slave or free and have all been made to drink unto one Spirit." Holy Spirit baptism is the operation of the Holy Spirit whereby we are placed into the living organism called the body of Christ. Christ is our head and we are His body. As such we are members of His body. Ephesians 5:30 says " For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones."

Once we are placed into the body of Christ we identify with everything that Christ experienced because we are in Him. When He died, we died. When He was crucified, we were crucified. When He was resurrected, we were resurrected. When He ascended on high, we ascended with Him. In the mind of GOD we are seated with Him now at the right hand of God.

Because we are in Him, we are dead to sin. We have triumphed over sin. We are more than conquerors through Him. Sin can never lay hold on us again. We are sealed in Christ with a perfect righteousness. We are dead to sin. We are alive in Christ forever more. This is our legal position in Christ. Alive in Christ. Dead to sin. We are pardoned. We are forgiven. Alive in Christ forever. Colossians 3:3 says "For you are dead and your life is hid with Christ in GOD." Bless His Holy Name.
