THE NEW COVENANT

Jer. 31:31-34 “The Days are Coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will make a New Covenant with the people... It will not be like the Covenant [of Laws in the Old Testament that] I made with their Ancestors when I took them by the Hand to Lead them out of Egypt,
because they broke My Covenant, though I was a Husband to them… I will Put my Law in their Minds and Write it on their Hearts I will be their God, and they will be My People… they will all Know Me, from the Least of them to the Greatest… For I will Forgive their Wickedness and will Remember their Sins No More.”

Under the First Covenant, there were 613 Laws and numerous Sacrifices that must be obeyed in order to please God. It was man striving to reach God. Of course it failed.

The New Covenant relies on what Jesus did and not on our actions. It can Never Fail, for it is “the Blood of Christ, who… offered Himself Unblemished to God, [that can] Cleanse our Consciences from Acts that lead to Death, so that we may Serve the Living God! For this reason Christ is the Mediator of a New Covenant, that those who are Called may Receive the Promised Eternal Inheritance—now that He has Died as a Ransom to Set them Free from the Sins Committed under the First Covenant.” Hebrews 9:14,15

God Calls to everyone to come under the New Covenant with Him. Jesus tells us, “Ask and it will be Given to you; Seek and you will Find; Knock and the Door will be Opened to you. For Everyone who Asks Receives; the One who Seeks Finds; and to the One who Knocks, the Door will be Opened.” Matthew 7:7,8

May you Fully Embrace the New Covenant offered in Jesus. May you have God’s Law of Love in your Mind and Written on your Heart. And may you Rejoice that God no longer Remembers your Sins. For “as far as the East is from the West, so far has He removed our Transgressions [Wrong Doings] from us.”
